Toby Keith has opened up about his ongoing battle with stomach cancer.

In an interview with Taste of Country published on Thursday, the Should've Been A Cowboy singer assured fans he was feeling "great" despite still undergoing treatment for the disease.

"It takes a while," the star, 62, told the publication. "I finally got it in a spot where I'm really comfortable with it. Everything's trending really well right now, and I'm not gonna let this define the rest of my life. If I live to be 100 or I don't, I'm going to go forward."

He added, "I'm feeling good and I'm off of chemo and I'm rolling. We're just going business as usual, going forward."

Toby announced to fans on social media in June 2022 that he had been receiving treatment for stomach cancer.

The singer marked his first public performance since the diagnosis at the inaugural People's Choice Country Awards in September, where he received the Country Icon Award.

When asked by Taste of Country if he got scared upon discovering he had cancer, Toby replied, "I did, but that's a bridge that you've never crossed before. Cancer is an island in the middle of the ocean and everybody rides around - they know it's there, but they go to other islands. They stay away from it."

"When you finally crash on that island, there's a lot of boats over there," he added. "Then you find out that half the world is afflicted with active cancer and you go, 'Holy cow, they've been working on this for centuries and they haven't got this puzzle put together yet.'"

Toby is set to perform three shows in Las Vegas in December at the Park MGM Hotel and the Dolby Live Theatre.
