An unnamed woman has filed a lawsuit alleging Russell Simmons raped her.
The rap impresario is yet to respond to the allegations that he raped a former female executive from his record company Def Jam Recordings, in the late 1990s.
The lawsuit alleges that the woman – who opted to remain anonymous, identified merely as 'Jane Doe' – visited Simmons at his apartment.
As they sat on a bed to watch new footage from a recently shot music video, Simmons, 66, allegedly initiated a "wrestling move".
"The situation escalated into aggression and Mr. Simmons pinned Ms. Doe down on a bed," the lawsuit describes.
"Ms. Doe repeatedly told Mr. Simmons to get off of her, but he refused.
"Mr. Simmons proceeded to rape her."
The lawsuit goes on to say Jane Doe's career was effectively ended by the alleged incident, with the unnamed woman subsequently resigning from her position and moving interstate.
Simmons, the suit says, "revealed his true colors and, through his assaultive behavior, disabled Ms. Doe’s career at Def Jam, a job she loved, at the height of her success and financial viability."
While he has not yet responded to the latest claims, Simmons has been accused of sexual impropriety by more than a dozen separate women.
"I took nine lie detector tests, people don't know that," Simmons said in 2023.
"Nine separate – seven from the Chairman of the Polygraph Association. One for each and serious accusation."
