Lily Allen has confirmed that she is working on new music.

The English singer-songwriter took to X, formerly known as Twitter, on Thursday night to reveal that she is working on a new album.

Lily shared the update in response to a fan who asked when she would be releasing a follow-up to her fourth studio album, 2018's No Shame.

"Please when are you making a follow-up to your best LP, No Shame?" the fan wrote.

The Somewhere Only We Know hitmaker responded, "I am making it now, I don't know how long it will take, but you will be able to hear some things soon."

Lily, 38, has not revealed any further details about the album, including its title or release date.

The musician's new album will be her first full-length LP since the release of No Shame, which featured tracks such as Come on Then and Lost My Mind.

The singer's update arrived shortly after she revealed that she had written approximately 50 tracks for an upcoming project, though she has not yet shared any further details.

"My Roman Empire is to think how Lily Recorded around 40 songs for her 5th project and NONE was released..." a fan wrote on X/Twitter on 31 January.

Lily replied, "It's more like 50 now (winking emoji)."
