Almost 10 years after his historic DJ set at the house of commons, renowned DJ ‘Fatboy Slim’ has sponsored a well as part of a powerful charity campaign that aims to provide accessible clean water for communities in Africa and India.
The ‘Have a drink on us’ campaign was set up by dance music charity Last Night A DJ Saved My Life (LNADJ), who works with talented and well known DJ’s to raise money for causes such as cleft lip palate surgeries, providing essential necessities to improve quality of life to communities and more. The aptly named campaign aims to provide clean water to those who need it most by building wells.
Announced on World Water Day (22nd of March 2024), Fatboy Slim has helped the charity reach their enormous 2024 goal only three months into year by sponsoring their 100th well. The ‘Have a drink on us’ campaign resonates with World Water Day’s message, which recognises that water is a basic human right which is intrinsically weaved into everyday life for everyone across the globe and should be accessible for all. The DJ’s generosity and charities hard work will have the life changing impact for Bumbo Village located in the Mpgi District, Uganda where the 100th well will be built, giving access to clean water for the 301-person community.
