Following the release of his new single, “Real Woman” PARTYNEXTDOOR joined Zane Lowe on Apple Music’s New Music Daily. The two discuss PARTY's next album, the highly anticipated PND4, which he promises is “coming soon”. He explains that the album feels different because of where he is in his personal life and how motivated he is. He reflects on his growth as an artist and expresses gratitude for the opportunity to connect through his music.
PARTYNEXTDOOR also discusses his collaboration with producer Noah “40” Shebib and the loyalty he feels towards his team. They discuss the song "Real Woman" and how it showcases his ability to capture the complexities of relationships.
PARTYNEXTDOOR on how his next album feels...
Zane Lowe: Feels different this time around. It's not like you haven't been giving us the good stuff, but coming back with the fourth installment, it feels different. How did you know the mentality was that?
PARTYNEXTDOOR: Just where I was in my personal life, how motivated I was, it just reminded me of where I was during that sequence. So it naturally had to be PND 4. It had to be. I'm so excited for this album. I'm also excited for how much work I put into it. I'm excited. That's why I'm so excited for this album. I'm also excited for how much work I put into it. I'm excited.
PARTYNEXTDOOR on reflecting where he was in the beginning of his career versus now…
Zane Lowe: ...as you move forward in this, how has your appreciation level changed for the opportunity to be able to connect through your art?
PARTYNEXTDOOR: I'm grateful honestly. I don't know. Every day is crazy.
Zane Lowe: Do you think about who you were back then and what you would say to yourself to try to allow yourself to be the man you are today with a little more ease?
PARTYNEXTDOOR: Man, there were small issues in the beginning of my career that I thought was everything. And not take everything so serious.
Zane Lowe: Isn't that when you should take it seriously though, when it feels like it's life or death?
PARTYNEXTDOOR: Yeah, the music. I'm talking about everything besides the music around it. you know trust the relationship and such. No, the music was always serious. always serious.
On working with Noah “40” Shebib and other collaborators…
Zane Lowe: How important was it for you to remain loyal to elements of the people that you've been with all the way through? I see 40's name on one of these things. I think there's a sense that there's some full cycle completion going on here on this project, and I just want you to touch on that a little bit.
PARTYNEXTDOOR: I love my guys. Man, working with 40, it doesn't feel like work, honestly. The chemistry is crazy. It still feels like the first day of working with him, and there's no, I don't have to change anything about my work style. He only adds stuff to help progress. I mean, it's amazing. It's a blessing.

Zane Lowe: This is a tribute to some degree, and I wondered how you got to this place as a writer and what's been going on in your life that allows you to speak on a song like "Real Woman" with real, genuine authenticity. Come on PARTY! I had to hit you with the real questions, bro!
PARTYNEXTDOOR: That's crazy. That's crazy.
Zane Lowe: Bro, I got to drop the bomb on that.
PARTYNEXTDOOR: That's crazy. I want to say I'm an empath, right? I want to say I'm an empath. I feel hard. I feel hard. And to be able to express it, I think that's one advantage I've always recognised, which is maybe why I'm able to, why I decided to mostly be into writing. And as I grow older, it's just more calm in everyone's life. These things and relationships and where it takes you. It's a blessing and a curse. It's a blessing and a curse.
PARTYNEXTDOOR on Where he finds himself now in his career…
Zane Lowe: .. where do you find yourself in terms of legacy right now? The idea of who you're becoming as a grown human being and what that means for your future through music.
PARTYNEXTDOOR: I'm grateful. I'm glad there's still more things in my head that I haven't done and I want to do. So that's what keeps me motivated. I also appreciate the love and respect from people.
Zane Lowe: We're just so happy to have you back. We love the music. No one can do it like you. I often say this about people when they come back after a protracted amount of time away, I say it to my friend, Jeff from Portishead all the time, I'm like, "You could take 40 years between the last album and the next one, and still no one's going to take your seat at the table." I feel that about you. I really feel like when you come back and you make this type of music, it's home. This sound is home when you open the door.
PARTYNEXTDOOR: Thank you. I'm so excited to drop this music. Yeah, I don't want to talk it up too much, or I want to stay away from certain words. Yeah, but I'm excited for this, man. I really hope the fans like it.
