Glasgow's iconic music venue, The Barrowland Ballroom, have inducted Johnny Marr into their prestigious Hall Of Fame.
Over the years the Barrowland Hall Of Fame inductees have included luminaries David Bowie, Iggy Pop, The Ramones, Paul Weller, Noel Gallagher, Simple Minds and many more.
The award was presented to Johnny Marr just before he made his ninth appearance at The Barrowland Ballroom. The performance took place amongst his current UK headline tour, The Spirit Power Tour, and has already been met with rave reviews, described as "nothing short of iconic" by The Scottish Sun and "on top of the world" by The Herald.
Johnny Marr said: "Thank you to the legendary Glasgow Barrowlands for inducting me into their Hall Of Fame. I remember arriving in the dressing room in 1985 and since then I’ve had the honour of playing there so many times in many different bands."
Johnny Marr first performed at the venue in 1985 with The Smiths, returning there with the group again in 1986. Johnny performed at Barrowlands with Simple Minds in 1987, with The The in 1989, with Electronic in 1991, as special guest to Oasis in 2001, as a member of The Cribs in 2008, with his solo band in 2018, and returned on 3rd April for a headline performance as part of The Spirit Power Tour.
