Dubstep legend Benga has been forced to cancel his Coachella sets due to issues with his US visa.

The US State Department required undisclosed further information when he submitted his application to enter the country for work.

The 37-year-old British musician was due to join DJ Skream at the festival in Indio, California, on April 13 and 20.

He has apologised to those planning to watch him in action and teased his replacement. He also vowed to return to the festival next year.

Benga - whose real name is Adegbenga Adejumo - announced on Instagram: "I am absolutely gutted, my team and I have worked tirelessly on making this happen.

"But hey, I'm respecting the process and staying positive.

"I am truly sorry for all of the inconvenience and disappointment this causes, and I promise to keep you updated on what's happening.

"We have called on some of the OG's to step up in my place. (sic)"

Skream has a different set time with DJ Dennis Ferrer.

Benga confirming he won't be making the trip comes after Vampire Weekend were a surprise last-minute edition to weekend one.

The American rockers are scheduled to play the Outdoor Theatre stage on Saturday (13.04.24) from 5pm and 5.45pm.

The organisers posted the full schedule for the first weekend of the festival and captioned it: "Vampire Weekend 1."

Vampire Weekend - who released their latest album, 'Only God Was Above Us', last week - previously played the world-famous music festival in Indio, California, in 2008, 2010, and 2013.

They've yet to confirm if the New York band will play the festival the following weekend.
