Justin Timberlake's lawyer has issued a statement following the singer's arrest earlier this week.
Attorney Edward Burke stated that he is eager to defend his client against drink-driving allegations.
He told the PA news agency, "I look forward to vigorously defending Mr Timberlake on these allegations. I will have a lot to say at the appropriate time but am currently awaiting full discovery from the District Attorney's office."
News of Timberlake's arrest came on Tuesday, with celebrity news outlet TMZ reporting that he was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated in the Hamptons village of Sag Harbor in New York.
The outlet reported that the star came under the watch of authorities after allegedly driving through a stop sign near a hotel where he is reported to have been socialising with friends. TMZ alleges that he was soon pulled over by police, who suspected he may be driving under the influence.
Timberlake is currently touring with his latest album, Everything I Thought It Was.
The Suffolk County District Attorney's Office has confirmed his next court date as 26 July, which clashes with his scheduled concert in Kraków, Poland.
No update has yet been issued on where things stand with the planned tour dates, but People magazine reported Thursday 20 June that the singer-songwriter plans to continue playing all of his upcoming Forget Tomorrow World Tour dates.
Timberlake is due to play in Birmingham on 8 August to kick off the UK leg of his tour.
