David and Victoria Beckham have kicked off their silver wedding celebrations with a fun social media post.

The former footballer and designer are set to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary on Thursday this week, having married at Luttrellstown Castle in Ireland in 1999 in a lavish ceremony which cost almost $1.3 million (£1 million).

They started the walk down memory lane by sharing a joint Instagram post wearing one of their original looks from the 1999 ceremony - or at least outfits that closely match the purple Antonio Berardi designs.

The couple, who share sons Brooklyn, 25, Romeo, 21, Cruz, 19, and daughter Harper, 12, captioned the snaps: "Look what we found."

In the comments section, David's mother Sandra gushed: "25yrs and you both still look amazing, special memories."

While his younger sister Joanne wrote: "Look as good now as you did back then, iconic."

Despite the nuptials being covered as part of a lucrative magazine deal, Victoria is adamant the wedding wasn't as fancy as it appeared, saying in an 2022 interview about her big day: "I think that the media glamorised the wedding much more than it actually was... It was actually much more intimate than it looked."

The wedding anniversary fun comes in the shadow of the release of Tom Bower's exposé book The House of Beckham: Money, Sex and Power - dubbed a "sex-obsessed hatchet job" by the Guardian newspaper.
