Albums by Dua Lipa, SZA and Shania Twain enjoy impressive week-on-week uplift following their show-stopping sets at last weekend’s Glastonbury Festival.
Friday night Pyramid Stage headliner Dua is the biggest beneficiary on the Official Albums Chart, seeing all three of her studio albums make a return to the Top 10. According to Official Charts Company combined sales and streams data, 2024 chart-topper Radical Optimism surges 158% to vault 24 spots (3), 2019 Number 1 Future Nostalgia lifts 235% with a jump of 92 places (8) and 2017 debut Dua Lipa is up 154%, lifting 59 (10).
Following her hit-filled Glastonbury slot, fans and viewers have been clamouring to buy physical copies of Dua’s albums. Future Nostalgia tops this week’s Official Vinyl Albums Chart, as Dua also secures three of the ten best-selling vinyl records in the UK this week, with Dua Lipa (2) and Radical Optimism (7) all placing in the Vinyl Top 10. Future Nostalgia also emerges as the most popular album in UK independent record shops too, topping this week’s Official Record Store Chart.
Sunday headliner SZA also reaps the rewards of her performance, with 2023 release SOS up 25% week-on-week, leaping 11 (19).
Cementing her status as a country icon, Shania Twain’s Sunday Legend Slot sparks new interest in her back catalogue. Shania’s Greatest Hits returns to the UK Top 40 for the first time since 2005, surging 62 places to Number 29, bolstered 100% week-on-week.
Greatest Hits also received a celebratory vinyl pressing this week, which sees it enter the Official Vinyl Albums Chart Top 5 (5).
