The time has come – 20 years into their blistering musical odyssey – for Portland’s eclectic and iconic outfit Federale to finally unveil their new album 'Reverb & Seduction', released on Jealous Butcher Records. Their sixth studio record to date, the West coast legends shatter the mold, so to speak, on their new offering, which weaves in more psychedelic and post-punk influences than seen on previous releases.

While their original influences flicker in the shadows, this album ventures into a vast, uncharted sonic landscape. Hegna's spaghetti western roots remain the foundation, but ‘Reverb & Seduction’ ventures far beyond the dusty plains. Psychedelic flourishes coincide with their trademark twang, while gothic whispers echo in the canyons.

Forget pigeonholing Federale – they've carved out their own sonic territory, a place where cowboys croon under swirling guitars and shadows dance with seduction. This isn't just an album, it's a sonic expedition into the heart of something entirely new.

Marking a major 20-year anniversary for the band, which is led by Collin Hegna, Federale (a member of The Brian Jonestown Massacre for equally as long), Federale is rounded out by several other Portland rock-scene artists, drawn from bands like The Dandy Warhols, The Shivas, Roselit Bone, Rogue Wave and Delines.

A number of guest appearances bring added delight, including Alex Mass of The Black Angels and Jenny Connors from Jenny Don’t & The Spurs (who also just released a fab new album). Also involved are Grammy nominee Hunter Lea (Nancy Sinatra / Lee Hazlewood reissue producer) and Andrew Joslyn (Mark Lanegan, Nancy Wilson, Kei$ha, Macklemore).

Hegna speaks about this latest milestone in his journey, “This album to me represents the culmination of 20 years of sonic exploration. With each record I’ve allowed a few more genres and musical influences into the playground. And with this, our 6th full length, I wanted to see how well they all played together at once. I was curious what happened when you crossed 80s deathrock with 70s folk balladeer stylings. Or 60s acid jams with string laden country crooning. It turns out it works pretty well”.

Recorded at Portland’s Revolver Studios, this album was engineered by Collin Hegna, Matt Thomson and Andrew Joslyn, who boasts five 5 Grammy Award winning albums. Mixed by Hegna with Jeff Stuart Saltzman (The Black Keys, The High Violets) and Matt Thomson, it was mastered by Adam Gonsalves at Telegraph Mastering.

'Reverb & Seduction' album is available in all format (CD, vinyl, digital) here or digitally here. This weekend, Federale also kicks off American live dates for their 'Reverb & Seduction' tour.
