Charli XCX has teased she might quit the music industry now her sixth album, Brat, has been released.
The 31-year-old singer, real name Charlotte Aitchison, has been releasing tracks since 2008 and unleashed her latest record last month.
But now she has hinted she is seriously considering giving up music and turning her attention to pursuing an acting career.
Speaking to Billboard, the Boom Clap singer said, "I saw this tweet the other day, 'Does anyone think that this is Charli's last album?' Then I was like, 'Actually, that could be cool if I didn't really make music anymore after this'."
She continued, "I'm definitely thinking about it because I really want to act. I don't know. I'm just so deep in this, I can't see outside of Brat, but it's funny."
She added, "I kind of want to make a Lou Reed record, to be honest. That would definitely be a pretty big swing."
Charli is set to appear in the upcoming horror film Faces of Death, which is a remake of the 1978 film of the same name.
The 2024 version is directed by Cam filmmaker Daniel Goldhaber and will see the British singer acting alongside Euphoria actress Barbie Ferreira, Stranger Things star Dacre Montgomery, and Josie Totah, who starred in the 2020 reboot of Saved by the Bell.
The movie does not currently have a release date.
