Kim Gordon has admitted she's "not really a fan" of Taylor Swift.

In an interview with The Guardian published on Wednesday, the Sonic Youth singer was asked to name her "most controversial" pop culture opinion.

"I don't know if it's controversial but I'm not really a fan of Taylor Swift," she replied. "I couldn't tell you what her music sounded like, actually."

However, Kim noted that she does like Billie Eilish's music.

"When it comes to pop icons, I would choose Billie Eilish," the 71-year-old continued.

Elsewhere, Kim was questioned about the artists who inspired her as a young musician.

While she insisted that she didn't aspire to get into the music business at all, the star did list several influential names.

"As a teenager, I listened to Billie Holiday and Joni Mitchell. But I never actually thought it was possible to become a musician. I didn't study or know anything about music. There are certainly artists, but not necessarily female artists, who I was influenced by - artists like Lucio Fontana or Yves Klein, even Andy Warhol," she explained.

Despite Taylor's international success and sell-out tours, she hasn't won over the entire industry.

Earlier this year, Courtney Love made headlines when she shared some polarising views on the popstar.

"Taylor is not important," she declared to The Standard. "She might be a safe space for girls, and she's probably the Madonna of now, but she's not interesting as an artist."
