Ice Spice has insisted she "never really cared" about the Matty Healy podcast controversy.
Back in February 2023, The 1975 frontman hit headlines when he laughed along at racially insensitive jokes made about the rapper during an appearance on The Adam Friedland Show podcast.
Reflecting on the incident during an interview for Rolling Stone published on Thursday, Ice - real name Isis Gaston - emphasised that Matty had "apologised multiple times" to her and she had moved on.
"I actually was late as f**k to that," she said. "I didn't know about it until like a month after or something like that."
"He apologised multiple times but I didn't realise how big of a deal it was to other people," the 24-year-old continued. "I feel like people just wanted something to be mad about, I guess. I wasn't angry or sad or anything. I was just kind of confused. I never really cared about that."
In addition, Ice maintained that she still listens to The 1975's music and is a "huge fan".
At a concert in New Zealand in April 2023, Matty issued a public apology to Ice for his part in the controversy.
"Sorry if I've offended you. Ice Spice, I'm sorry. It's not because I'm annoyed that me joking got misconstrued, it's 'cause I don't want Ice Spice to think that I'm a d**k," he stated. "I love you Ice Spice... It's OK for me to be like, a trickster or whatever, but I don't want to be perceived as mean-hearted."
He added, "We all get it wrong, and I just have to do it in public and then apologise to Ice Spice and my life's just a bit weird. But I am genuinely sorry if I upset her 'cause I f**king love her."
Ice Spice's debut album, Y2K, was released on Friday.
