50 Cent has claimed Eminem threatened to quit the 2022 Super Bowl Halftime Show if he didn't make an appearance.

The In Da Club hitmaker, real name Curtis Jackson, made a surprise appearance during the sporting extravaganza alongside his longtime friend Eminem as well as Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, 50 claimed Jay-Z's entertainment company Roc Nation, which produces the show, didn't want him to be involved - so Eminem gave them an ultimatum.

"They wanted to leave me out of it. They didn't want me there," he alleged. "Eminem wouldn't do it without me. That's how I ended up on the show because he was not coming if I didn't do it. When that happens, you go, 'Damn, so you just lost Eminem because you didn't bring 50? Damn. All right. Bring 50 then.' But if it was up to them, they would not have me there. I'm the surprise. I'm not on the bill at all. But they couldn't get Em to do it without me."

The acclaimed performance became the first Super Bowl Halftime Show to win the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Variety Special (Live). All of the performers won the award alongside Jay-Z and other producers.

Elsewhere in the interview, 50 also took aim at Jay-Z's wife Beyoncé when he slammed the Grammys, claiming they "don't mean anything" and have "zero value".

"I don't know who's voting in that s**t. It's crazy. Whoever they are, they're off at Beyoncé's house because she has 30 of them," he stated.

Beyoncé has 32 Grammys in total.
