Halsey has opened up about experiencing a miscarriage before one of her shows.

During an appearance on Tuesday's episode of the SHE MD podcast, the 29-year-old singer, who uses both she/her and they/them pronouns, reflected on suffering a miscarriage when she was 20.

"I miscarried during a concert," Halsey told co-hosts Mary Alice Haney and Dr. Thaïs Aliabadi. "I started miscarrying before the show."

The Without Me singer continued, "And I was in a really tough position because it was really early on in my career and there was a lot attached to the show."

Halsey, real name Ashley Frangipane, explained that they didn't want to disappoint their fans by cancelling the show.

"There was a corporate partner, there was a greater media entity partner, but more importantly than that to me, there (were) a thousand kids who waited all day long to get into this show and see me," she said.

"And what ended up happening was I ended up just putting on an adult diaper," the singer continued. "They'd only asked me to perform I think 45 minutes. And I didn't really have that much music out, to be honest with you, so I don't know that I could have played longer."

Halsey noted that she was "sick all night" after the show.

"I remember sitting in the bathtub because I just didn't know what to do with all the blood," they remembered. "And then waking up at 5 or 6 in the morning to get on another aeroplane to go to Canada."

The Lucky hitmaker told the hosts she struggled to find people to talk to about her miscarriage.

"And I just remember feeling like, 'I don't know who to talk to about this.' Because at the time, the only stories about miscarriage that I had heard were from women who were happily married," the singer said.

Halsey welcomed a son, Ender, with ex Alev Aydin in July 2021 and is reportedly engaged to actor Avan Jogia.
