Lewis Capaldi has reportedly split from his girlfriend, Ellie McDowell.
The pair had been together for two years. It's believed they ended their relationship because they were struggling to manage a long-distance relationship and find enough time for each other.
"Lewis and Ellie had some long conversations and decided it was best for them to end things," a source told The Sun.
"It was a mutual decision. They are still friends and have been talking, so all is not lost. Ellie is still based in Edinburgh and Lewis lives in London so it's been hard for them to see each other."
The couple first confirmed they were an item in February 2023 after being seen at an after party for the BRITS. However, they were notoriously private about their relationship and rarely seen in public together.
Lewis, 27, hasn't performed since Glastonbury set in June 2023. During his performance he struggled to sing because of his Tourette's symptoms. He admitted he'd been "s**t scared" of getting on stage, and confirmed he would be a break from the spotlight to focus on his mental health.
On New Year's Eve, he wrote on social media that he'd "noticed a marked improvement in both (his physical and mental health) since I decided to take some time off back in June," adding that he would "continue taking some time to carry on looking after myself, maybe writing some music and taking a moment to reflect on some of the most incredible years of my life."
In June, Lewis was reported to be back recording in his home studio.
