Taylor Swift's fans have been banned from gathering around her upcoming London concerts due to security concerns.

The 34-year-old American singer is in the midst of her record-breaking Eras World Tour and will play five concerts over six nights in the UK capital - beginning on Thursday 15 August.

The Eras Tour has frequently attracted tens of thousands of fans who don't have tickets who have gathered outside the venues the star is performing in to sing along to the setlist and form new friendships.

However, last week, the Purple Haze singer's concerts in Vienna, Austria, were cancelled after a terrorist plot was foiled which aimed to murder scores of such fans.

Organisers at Wembley Stadium have confirmed that 'Tay-gating' - the name given by the fans for their huge-scale group gatherings - will be strictly banned over security fears.

A statement on the venue's dedicated Eras Tour webpage states, "To support the safe entry and exit of everyone within the stadium, no one is allowed to stand outside any entrance or on the Olympic Steps at the front of the stadium. Non-ticket holders will be moved on."

Earlier this year, Taylor performed a trio of sold-out concerts at Wembley - entertaining crowds with A-List stars such as Tom Cruise, Salma Hayek, Hugh Grant and Emma Bunton among them.

Members of the royal family also attended the shows, and Prince William, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte enjoyed a night at Wembley together to see the star sing on stage.
