Donald Trump has falsely claimed that Taylor Swift has endorsed him for president in the upcoming 2024 election.

The Republican candidate took to social media platform Truth Social on Sunday to share a series of doctored images of women wearing "Swifties for Trump" T-shirts, suggesting that Swift and her fans were supporting his presidential campaign.

The images, which appeared to be AI-generated, were screenshotted from various X accounts.

The post included a screenshot of a satirical news article claiming that Swift's fans had turned to Trump after her Eras tour shows in Vienna were cancelled due to a foiled terrorist attack.

Another image showed the pop star dressed as Uncle Sam with the text reading, "Taylor wants you to vote for Donald Trump."

Trump captioned the post, "I accept!"

Swift has not commented on the post and has yet to endorse a presidential candidate ahead of the 2024 election.

However, the Lover hitmaker did endorse Joe Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris during the 2020 election and took to X in May that year to criticise Trump.

"After stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism your entire presidency, you have the nerve to feign moral superiority before threatening violence?" she wrote. "When the looting starts the shooting starts'??? We will vote you out in November. @realdonaldtrump."

The 2020 election marked the first time Swift had endorsed a presidential candidate.
