ABBA have hit out at US presidential hopeful Donald Trump and demanded he stop playing their music at events.
The iconic band have spoken out after the presidential hopeful played The Winner Takes It All, Dancing Queen, and Money, Money, Money at re-election campaign rallies and used music in video footage.
The Swedish band's record label, Universal Music, announced in a statement issued via Reuters on Thursday, "Together with the members of Abba, we have discovered that videos have been released where Abba's music has been used at Trump events, and we have therefore requested that such use be immediately removed and taken down."
The statement also made it clear that no permission or licence had been granted for the Trump campaign to use their timeless pop tracks.
ABBA - whose band members are Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad - are not the only musicians to hit out at Trump during the 2024 election season.
The Foo Fighters, Celine Dion and the estate of late Irish singer Sinéad O'Connor have all complained about the Republican politician using their music while campaigning to land a second term in the White House.
The 2024 US presidential election vote will take place on Tuesday 5 November when Americans will go to the polls to decide if Trump or his Democrat opponent Kamala Harris, who is currently serving as the Vice President, will be their new leader.
