Shaboozey has reacted to Beyoncé's "unfortunate" CMA Awards snub.

The nominees for the upcoming Country Music Association Awards were announced on Monday, and fans were shocked that Beyoncé was left out.

The Halo singer made history this year with her debut country album Cowboy Carter, becoming the first Black woman to have a No. 1 country album and song with Texas Hold 'Em.

In an interview with E! News on Wednesday, singer-songwriter Shaboozey, who collaborated with Beyoncé on her country album, responded to her lack of nominations at this year's CMAs.

"It's definitely unfortunate. I mean, if that's something she was looking to receive and that's something that she worked for, it really sucks," he said. "I know as an artist, you put a lot of time and a lot of work and a lot of things and a lot of energy into music."

However, the musician went on to point out that there are more important things than awards.

"Awards aren't really - they're not everything," he told the outlet. "As long as you're connecting with people and genuinely making music that's impacting people, that's all that matters, you know?"

"She changed my life, and changed the lives of other artists as well," Shaboozey continued. "..To me, if I could do that for another artist, or another person in general...I'd be at peace."

Shaboozey has been nominated for his first CMA Awards this year, competing in the Single of the Year and New Artist of the Year categories.

The 58th Annual CMA Awards will be broadcast live from Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on 20 November.
