Cardi B has revealed she's staying active to avoid postpartum depression.

The 31-year-old rapper welcomed her third child, a baby girl, into the world on 7 September. Cardi took to social media on Monday to explain why she's already back in the gym.

"I'm not doing heaving lifting, no muscle straining, squatting none of that... just cardio," she wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Monday. "Sometimes to avoid postpartum depression you gotta keep your mind busy and for me that's work and staying active."

Cardi has three children - six-year-old daughter Kulture, three-year-old son Wave and a newborn girl - with estranged husband Offset.

The Bodak Yellow star went on to explain that her outlook feels "different" since welcoming the latest addition to her family.

"This is my third baby and postpartum is a little different from my first two..." she shared.

Cardi felt compelled to discuss her workout schedule after one follower left a scathing comment on her social media account about women in the industry feeling under pressure to lose weight after giving birth.

"But you know what's funny?? Y'all dragged me down when I gained 15 pounds because I was 5 months pregnant but now yall fake concerned and wanna talk about pressure???" she replied. "Y'all said I was pregnant to avoid working now that you see I'm still at it it's something else??"

She added, "So yeah I'm taking this personal but its FOR ME because either way y'all are gonna have something to say."
