Zach Bryan has spoken out after "drunkenly" tweeting about Taylor Swift.

The country singer has addressed his recent tweet in which he declared that he prefers Kanye West to the Cruel Summer hitmaker.

In the post shared on X on Wednesday, Zach wrote, "eagles > chiefs Kanye > Taylor who's with me (sic)," which some fans believed was also a dig at Taylor's American football star boyfriend Travis Kelce, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs.

On Thursday, the 28-year-old musician took to his Instagram Stories to clarify that he didn't mean any disrespect to Taylor.

"For the record guys I wasn't coming for Taylor the other night," Zach wrote. "I was drunkenly comparing two records and it came out wrong."

"I know there's a lot of stuff that clouds around Ye and I was speaking purely musically," the musician continued, seemingly referring to Kanye's past controversies.

Zach went on to insist he is a fan of Taylor's music.

"I love Taylor's music and pray you guys know I'm human and tweet stupid things often. (I) Hope one day I can explain this to her," he wrote. "Twitter gets me in trouble too much and I'd say it's best I stay off it."

Zach deleted his X account shortly after posting the original tweet.

The country star concluded the post, "I'm sorry to any Taylor fans I pissed off or let down. Love you guys and I'm trying my best!"

In a second post, Zach revealed he was "going through a hard time" before adding, "I respect (Taylor) so much as a musician that the last thing I want is people thinking I don't appreciate and love what she has done for music."
