Demi Lovato is writing "nothing but love songs and sexy songs".

The 'Cool for the Summer' hitmaker has confirmed she is working on the follow-up to 2022 album 'Holy Fvck' and while still "figuring out" her sound, the 32-year-old singer - who uses both female and gender neutral pronouns - admitted much of her material is positive because she's in a "really good place".

Speaking on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon', Demi said: "It's true. I'm working on new music. I'm kind of figuring out my sound right now.

"I don't know when it'll come out but it'll come out when I'm ready."

The host then asked his guest if it would be a max of "happy songs and sad songs" and they replied: "I tend to write from the place that I am in in the moment. Because it's actually been like... it's been amazing.

"I've been writing nothing but love songs and sexy songs because I'm in this really good place. It feels good to be able to write coming from that place."

Demi recently gushed about having such a supportive partner in fiance Jordan 'Jutes' Lutes and admitted it was easy to "stay centred" with the musician by her side.

The 'Confident' hitmaker told People magazine: "You know, I've waited my whole life for him and to have him be a part of this just makes it that much more sweet...

"It's very grounding to have a partner that is so supportive, so loving, so caring.

"And so, you know, it's very easy to stay centered with him because I just — I love him so much and he treats me so amazing."

But the couple aren't ready to have children yet.

Demi explained to Teen Vogue magazine: "I’m not ready to give up my alone time with [Jordan]."
