Halsey has revealed that she was recently rushed to hospital after suffering a "scary" seizure.

The singer-songwriter, who uses both she and they pronouns, sparked concern when she took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a video of herself lying in a hospital bed.

The short clip also featured Halsey's fiancé, actor Avan Jogia, who could be seen lying in a bed next to the singer.

"Happy late Bi Visibility Day," they wrote in the caption. "This year I'm celebrating by dying with a man by my side (for legal reasons that's a joke)."

In the video, the couple could be heard simultaneously saying, "Happy Bi Visibility Day. We had a whole plan for you guys."

Shortly after posting the video, Halsey shared details of her medical emergency with fans during a Q&A on X.

"I'm home from the hospital now after a few days, so a win is a win!" they replied after a fan asked about their health.

Another X user then asked why she was in the hospital, to which the Without Me singer responded, "I had a seizure! Very scary! Don't recommend it!"

Halsey has been open about her health struggles in recent months, revealing in June that she had been diagnosed with lupus and T-cell disorder. She has also previously opened up about her battles with endometriosis, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Sjögren's syndrome and mast cell activation syndrome, among other conditions.

The 29-year-old artist is preparing to release their fifth studio album, The Great Impersonator, on 25 October.
