Blossoms pull it out the bag to secure their fourth Official Number 1 album with Gary.

The Stockport indie rock band’s fifth studio album faced strong competition from former Number 1s, Short N’ Sweet by Sabrina Carpenter (2) and Chappell Roan’s The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess (3), but crossed the finish line at the top, with 86% of their final total coming from physical sales.

Gary also tops this week’s Official Vinyl Albums Chart, as well as the Official Record Store Chart.

Celebrating, Blossoms told Official Charts:
“Thank you to everyone who bought Gary this week, it’s our fourth Number 1, five albums in, it means a lot to us five and [Gary the Gorilla] - thank you!”

Meanwhile, Scottish singer-songwriter Tom Walker’s second studio album and follow-up to chart-topping debut What a Time to Be Alive, I Am, lands at Number 4, closely followed by English musician and producer Jamie XX’s In Waves at Number 5, his second Top 10 collection.

Katy Perry’s seventh studio album 143 debuts at Number 6 to become her fifth Top 10 album.

Outside the Top 10, Future’s Mixtape Pluto (11) becomes his 12th Top 40 collection, while Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish see their tenth album Yesterwynde debut in the Top 20 (20).

Post-punk band Ist Ist earn a career-best and their first Top 40 with Light A Bigger Fire at Number 25, and finally English rock band Terrorvision’s new album We Are Not Robots becomes their fourth Top 40 in the UK, landing at Number 29.
