Shed Seven and Bring Me The Horizon are both in with a chance of scoring the UK’s Number 1 album this Friday.
At the midweek mark, Shed Seven lead with Liquid Gold (1), their seventh album and second release of this year. In January, the York rockers earned their first-ever UK chart-topper with A Matter of Time, which set an Official Charts record for the longest-time between the release of a band’s debut album and their first Number 1 (29 years and three months).
Meanwhile, around 600 chart units behind at Number 2, Bring Me The Horizon’s POST HUMAN: NeX GEn is looking to secure a new peak following its release on physical formats. If they can overtake, it will mark BMTH’s third Number 1.
Originally released in May of this year, it became Oli Sykes and co’s fifth UK Top 10 record, reaching Number 5.
Harlesden MC Nines is right now expected to debut at Number 3 with Quit While You’re Ahead, his sixth (and purportedly final) album. In less than ten years, Nines has claimed five Top 10 albums, including 2020’s chart-topping Crabs In A Bucket.
Ed Sheeran’s +-=÷× (Tour Collection) aims for a Top 5 debut (5), while Mercury Prize-winning jazz band Ezra Collective could be celebrating their first UK Top 10 album this week with third record Dance, No One’s Watching (6).
At Number 7, Manchester indie-rock outfit Pale Waves’ fourth LP Smitten is on track to become their fourth consecutive Top 10 album, while Maximo Park’s Stream Of Life is expected to bow at Number 9 and become their fifth Top 10 to date.
Further down, the late, great DJ, producer and pop pioneer SOPHIE’s self-titled second album, released posthumously, is aiming for a debut at Number 24, a bittersweet moment as SOPHIE’s first entry on the Official Albums Chart.
Jokes on you! As Joker: Foile a Deux arrives in cinemas this week, Lady Gaga’s accompanying soundtrack album Harlequin is so far expected to debut at Number 25 in the UK following a surprise digital-only release.
Finally, Michael Bublé’s first greatest hits The Best of Bublé could earn him his 13th Top 40 collection (28), while Scottish alt-pop singer-songwriter Nina Nesbitt’s fourth album, Mountain Music (30), could become her fourth.
