Rapper YG has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI).

On Tuesday, editors at TMZ reported that the rapper - real name Keenon Jackson - had been booked for a misdemeanour DUI after police officers arrested him earlier that morning.

According to the outlet, YG had driven his red Lamborghini over a curb in Burbank, California and was standing by the vehicle when cops arrived.

The hip-hop star was the only person in the car and appeared to be uninjured. No other cars were involved.

In a statement, a Burbank Police spokesperson confirmed YG had been released from custody.

"Upon contact, Mr. Jackson displayed objective symptoms of alcohol intoxication," they commented. "The officers conducted a DUI investigation to which Mr. Jackson was subsequently arrested and transported to the Burbank PD Jail where he was booked for driving under the influence."

YG has not yet commented on the arrest.

But his lawyer, Joe Tacopina, defended his client in a statement issued to People.

"We will be contesting the allegations, and they are just that - merely allegations," he said.

It's not the first time the 34-year-old has been arrested.

In 2020, just days before he was due to perform at the Grammy Awards, YG was arrested on suspicion of being involved in a 2018 robbery. However, the case was dismissed two years later due to lack of evidence.

YG dropped his seventh studio album, Just Re'd Up 3, in August.
