R Kelly's daughter Joanne Kelly has no interest in introducing her future son to his grandfather.

"If my son asks questions, I'm going to be as truthful as possible. And I will not be taking my son to prison to meet his grandfather," she vows in a clip from her upcoming documentary R Kelly's Karma: A Daughter's Journey.

The expectant mum looked back on her childhood with Kelly and says he "was my everything" but they're no longer close after he was convicted on racketeering and sex trafficking charges in September 2021.

"For a long time, I didn't even want to believe that it happened," she says of the singer, who is serving a 30-year sentence in Chicago's Metropolitan Correctional Centre.

"Nobody wants to be the child of the father that is out here hurting women and children."

In addition to Kelly's 30-year sentence, the Grammy winner was convicted on six counts of child sex crimes with charges including producing child pornography and enticing a minor to engage in sexual activity.

In February 2023 he was sentenced to a further 20 years in prison, 19 of which will be served concurrently with his New York sentence.

The documentary also features appearances from Joanne's siblings Jaah Kelly and Robert Kelly Jr.
