Charli XCX has declared that she approves of Bowen Yang's recent Brat sketch on Saturday Night Live.

The 32-year-old has revealed she was impressed by the comedian's recent comedy sketch, in which he transformed into the British singer for a performance inspired by her latest album, Brat.

The skit, which appeared in an episode of the late-night sketch comedy show over the weekend, saw Bowen dress up as the Club Classics singer and host a mock chat show, The Talk Talk Show.

The set featured lime green props, a reference to Brat, and an appearance by comedian Sarah Sherman, who played Charli's friend and collaborator Troye Sivan.

The singer has now responded to the sketch, revealing that she thought it was "cool".

"I love Bowen and I honestly think he did a great job," she told Howard Stern's SiriusXM channel via Rolling Stone. "I was very impressed with the hair texture, actually. I thought it was a really good wig. It was good, it was cool."

Charli added that she anticipated the sketch after her album went viral on social media shortly after its release in June, spawning the phrase "brat summer".

"I think SNL is iconic," she said. "Troye and I, we had an inkling it was coming and so we were very excited about it."

Charli has made several appearances on SNL, making her debut as a musical guest in 2014 and returning in 2022.

The hitmaker is currently preparing to release the remix version of Brat on 11 October.
