Shed Seven join an elite group of artists who have achieved two UK Number 1 albums in a calendar year.
Shed Seven successfully earn their second Number 1 album in a year with Liquid Gold.
Following up their first-ever chart-topper A Matter of Time back in January, it’s only taken the York-formed rock band less than ten months to claim a second, putting them in exclusive and rather impressive company alongside the likes of The Beatles, Elton John, Diana Ross, Queen, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and ABBA (not a complete list) who have also managed two or more Number 1 albums in a year.

At Number 2, Bring Me The Horizon’s POST HUMAN: NeX GEn earns a new peak following its release on physical formats. Previously peaking at Number 5 on its initial release in June, it is the group’s fifth Top 10 album.
North-West London rapper Nines lands at Number 4 with his sixth and final album Quit While You’re Ahead, his sixth Top 10, finishing ahead of Ed Sheeran’s +-=÷× (Tour Collection) at Number 5 which marks Ed’s eighth.
Ezra Collective mark their first ever Top 10 on the Official Albums Chart with Dance, No One’s Watching (7). The group - comprising Femi Koleoso, TJ Koleoso, Ife Ogunjobi, James Mollison and Joe Armon-Jones - previously enjoyed Top 40 success in 2022 with their Mercury Prize-winning second album Where I’m Meant To Be (24).
The last Jazz album to land in the Top 10 in the UK was from former footballer and commentator Chris Kamara (!) in 2019 with his debut big band collection Here’s To Christmas, reaching Number 8.
Meanwhile, Manchester-formed rock band Pale Waves earn their fourth Top 40 with fourth studio release Smitten (13).
Newcastle indie band Maximo Park debut at Number 21 with eighth album Stream of Life, marking a full house for the group’s releases landing in the Top 40.
Finally, Benson Boone’s Fireworks & Rollerblades rebounds 20 places this week, back into the Top 40 at Number 37.
