Piers Morgan has apologised to Beyoncé and Jay-Z for recent "false" claims.

The former Good Morning Britain presenter has addressed claims made about the couple by singer Jaguar Wright on his show last week.

While discussing Sean 'Diddy' Combs' recent arrest on Morgan's YouTube series Uncensored, Wright said, "For four years I've been screaming not just Diddy, but Diddy and Jay-Z are monsters."

The singer, who previously worked as a backing singer for Jay-Z, went on to claim that he is "worse than Diddy" and called the music mogul and Beyoncé a "nasty little couple".

Wright's comments came weeks after Combs was arrested in New York and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. He is currently in custody after being denied bail.

After hearing from Jay-Z and Beyoncé's legal team, Morgan has now addressed Wright's comments in a new statement.

"Jaguar Wright made several serious allegations about Jay-Z and Beyoncé during their interview. As I said in the moment, they were not present to respond or defend themselves," the British journalist began.

"Now they have. Their lawyers contacted us to say those claims were totally false, and have no basis in fact."

Morgan went on to explain that Wright's claims about the Hollywood couple had now been edited out of the interview.

"Editing interviews is not something we do lightly on a show called Uncensored," he continued. "But like the proverbial cries of fire in a crowded theatre, there are legal limits on us too. We apologise to Jay-Z and Beyoncé."
