Tate McRae has revealed that she was involved in a jet ski accident while on holiday this year.
Speaking to host Jimmy Hill on Capital Radio on Thursday, the Canadian hitmaker explained that she was recently involved in a jet ski accident with her musician boyfriend The Kid Laroi.
During the interview, Jimmy said, "There was a quite scary accident you had over the summer on a jet ski with your boyfriend, The Kid Laroi."
He continued, via Mail Online, "You fell off and nearly got eaten by a whale or something? Have you banned him from driving any sort of vehicle now? Is he a bit of a liability?"
Tate jokingly confirmed that she had banned the Australian rapper from driving, adding, "I didn't realise what I was getting myself into!"
The 21-year-old singer continued, "You know you have trust in your boyfriend, but also jet skis are the worst! They flip over every two seconds."
When asked how close she was to the whale, Tate told the presenter, "It was like ten feet away. It was the big moment of our trip. I was like 'we nearly just landed in a whale's mouth!'"
The Greedy hitmaker added that she's not entirely comfortable in the ocean, admitting it's "just a really freaky thing to me".
She told Jimmy, "I got that feeling when we fell in the water and you're just tingling at the bottom of your feet and you're like 'we could die right now!'"
In April, Laroi, real name Charlton Howard, confirmed his relationship with Tate when he referred to her as his "girlfriend" during a show in Dublin, Ireland.
