Bruce Springsteen has shared an update on his wife Patti's cancer treatment.
The Hungry Heart rocker spoke about the rare blood cancer diagnosis in a new TV special originally geared to promote his upcoming documentary, Rock Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.
"She's doing good, we caught it early, which was important," Bruce, 75, told ABC on Tuesday. "It's a tough disease, it's very fatiguing."
Patti, 71, was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a form of blood cancer, in 2018.
In the new documentary, she spoke about how the disease has impacted her life.
"This affects my immune system, so I have to be careful what I choose to do and where I choose to go," Patti explained in the film.
"Every once in a while, I come to a show or two and I can sing a few songs on stage, and that's been a treat. That's the new normal for me right now, and I'm OK with that."
She also said while she couldn't manage her former touring schedules, returning to the stage had been a personal triumph.
"Touring has become a challenge for me," Patti said.
"I've been performing with this band for 40 years. With those first performances, it felt so good to be back onstage."
