James Blunt has slammed Noel Gallagher over a 2006 insult.

The Oasis guitarist called James's music "terrible" almost two decades ago and this week James, 50, described Noel, 57, as "two-faced".

"I bumped into Noel Gallagher the other day," James told the How to Fail with Elizabeth Day podcast. "He'd said he was leaving Ibiza and selling up his house because he couldn't handle me writing my s**t songs down the road from him.

The You're Beautiful singer explained that in contrast to his interview insults, Noel was always friendly in person

"Whenever I see him, he's really sweet to my face. I think everyone's sweet to each other's faces," he said.

"It's just with the courage of a microphone and a journalist and trying to show off a little, they'll do something different."

James went on to make a dig about the effect Noel's departure had had on the island.

"House prices subsequently went up after he's left," he said.

In 2006, Noel told a reporter he was ready to sell his holiday home in Ibiza, Spain, because he'd learned James was planning to move to the same island and he didn't want to be forced to listen to the singer's "terrible music".
