Rapper Lil Durk was arrested in Florida on Thursday on a pending murder-for-hire charge.

The 32-year-old musician, real name Durk Devontay Banks, was arrested in Broward County, Florida for his alleged involvement in a suspected murder-for-hire plot. He is currently being held in Broward County jail without bail on behalf of the U.S. Marshals Office.

Durk's arrest came hours after federal prosecutors in California announced that a grand jury had indicted five men - Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey and Asa Houston - for conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire and committing murder-for-hire involving a death. All five men are alleged members of Lil Durk's Only the Family (OTF) collective.

While details of Durk's arrest are yet to be released, it is likely to be in connection with the same incident.

The five men are accused of being involved in a murder-for-hire plot targeting rapper Quando Rondo and fatally shooting his cousin Saviay'a Robinson in Los Angeles in August 2022. The shooting was believed to be in retaliation for Quando Rondo's alleged involvement in the death of fellow rapper King Von in November 2020.

King Von, real name Dayvon Daquan Bennett, died aged 26 after being shot multiple times during an altercation in Atlanta, Georgia.

One month before his arrest, Durk celebrated getting a "second chance at life" after his criminal record was wiped clean.

"My background wiped and clean of all cases. I ain't a felon anymore. Who would have thought? I want to thank everyone who helped push my vision forward. Thank you from the bottom of my heart," he wrote in September.
