Beyoncé has jokingly begged her mother Tina Knowles not to "spill too much tea" in her upcoming memoir.

On Tuesday, Tina announced that she is writing a book titled Matriarch in which she will chronicle her life and experiences as the mother to one of the world's biggest stars.

Following the news, Beyoncé took to Instagram to praise her mum for taking on the project.

"Mama, I couldn't be prouder. My love for you goes beyond what I can say," she gushed. "You put your heart into this book. I'm happy for you to share some of the stories that shaped you into who you are. To know you is to love you."

But Beyoncé, who usually keeps her personal life under wraps, also urged Tina, 70, not to go too far.

"But please don't spill too much Mama Tea," the Formation hitmaker teased, referring to the modern phrase used to describe sharing gossip.

In Matriarch, Tina promises to delve into her childhood in Galveston, Texas, her marriage to Mathew Knowles, and her experience raising daughters Beyoncé and Solange Knowles, as well as Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland, whom she cared for from the age of 11.

The book will also explore her work as a businesswoman, fashion designer, and philanthropist.

"It's one brilliant woman's intimate and revealing story, and a multigenerational family saga that carries within it the story of America - and the wisdom that women pass on to each other, mothers to daughters, across generations," a summary shared by editors at Penguin Random House reads.

Matriarch, which is now available to pre-order, will be released on 22 April 2025.
