Halsey has divulged details on the romantic way Avan Jogia proposed.
During an interview for the Call Her Daddy podcast on Wednesday, host Alex Cooper asked the Without Me singer - who uses both she/her and they/them pronouns - about how the former Victorious actor popped the question earlier this year.
In response, Halsey recalled how Avan proposed to her while visiting Barcelona, Spain.
"It's kind of like where we first started hanging out, so it's really special to us... I wasn't sure that I was ready, but I was also kind of like, 'You're literally the most amazing, smartest, hottest, nicest person I've ever met in my life, so please don't go anywhere.' I'm trying to figure it out," they said. "It was really sweet. Immediately afterward, (Avan) left to go shoot a show for like six months in Canada. I was like, 'OK, bye.' We haven't really had like the chance to be like 'engaged,' you know what I mean, but he's coming home, and I think we're gonna get to have our time then."
Halsey, real name Ashley Frangipane, went on to insist she never had any desire to tie the knot - but getting to know Avan changed her mind.
"I never thought that I would want to be married I just knew that I wanted to marry him and I couldn't explain why," the 30-year-old shared. "I couldn't really understand the point of marrying just from, like, an emotional point of view. I was like, 'Well, if you love each other, then just be together...I didn't understand it.' And then, I don't know, it was just something with him where I just knew I wanted to marry him," she continued.
"I love him in such a way that I feel like we would be just as fine if we didn't (get married). But something about that makes me wanna do it more."
Halsey and Avan, 32, started dating in 2023.
And the Ghost hitmaker recounted how she was "so drawn" to the Canadian artist when they first went on a date.
"There was just like, this warmth and this like light just emanating off of him," they mused. "It was so compelling. It was so alluring. I just like sitting at the table, I just wanted to lean over the table, sit closer to him. I was just so drawn to him."
Elsewhere in the conversation, Halsey gushed over Avan's "authentic" relationship with her three-year-old son Ender. The star shares the little boy with her ex-partner Alev Aydin.
"He has a relationship with my son now and just watching the way he shows up for my son in such an authentic way," she said, adding of them growing closer: "I was like, 'OK, you really are just the best person.'"
