Beyoncé's father Mathew Knowles has rejected Donald Trump's claim that she was booed at a political rally.
Last week, the Halo singer appeared at an event for Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris in Houston, Texas.
This prompted Republican Party hopeful Trump to lash out with insults about the rally at his own event, even claiming the crowd had booed her.
"They got Beyoncé," the 78-year-old stated at a convention in Wisconsin. "They said, 'Beyoncé's coming to sing', and she came, but she didn't sing. And then, Kamala came on as Beyoncé was leaving without singing even one song, and they (the crowd) booed the hell out of both of them."
But following Trump's comments, Mathew insisted the claim was a "lie".
"I can unequivocally say no one was booing," he said. "That's just a lie. Everyone has the right to have their own perspective, but they don't have to right to lie".
Instead of performing her hits at the Houston campaign spectacle, Beyoncé opted to make a speech that focused on women's rights and her hopes for the future of America.
"I'm not here as a celebrity, I'm not here as a politician. I'm here as a mother," the Formation hitmaker told the crowd.
"A mother who cares deeply about the world my children and all of our children live in, a world where we have the freedom to control our bodies, a world where we're not divided."
