Sundance Head, who won a season of The Voice, is recovering from a gunshot wound after an incident on his rural Texas ranch.
The singer, who won the popular TV singing competition in 2016, was airlifted to hospital after paramedics were able to get him in stable condition.
The country singer's agent, Trey Newman, told TMZ that Head had been shot in the navel area of his stomach.
Newman shared that Head himself had called 911 after the shooting.
"(The bullet) missed all vital organs. It was not self-inflicted," Newman told the New York Post.
"We don't know if it was an accident with his gun or if it was another hunter nearby."
He also shared that Head's wife, Misty, had revealed that the bullet was lodged in the fatty area of his stomach. She has asked fans for prayers during this difficult time.
It's unclear how the shooting happened although Head is known to go hunting on his ranch. The shooting is being called an accident at this time.
Head is also known for his appearance on American Idol in 2007, when he was a semi-finalist. His run on the show ended when he was eliminated one week before the finals.
He went on to win Season 11 of The Voice with Blake Shelton as his coach.
