Ice Cube has shared the secret to his 32-year marriage to Kimberly Woodruff.

The rapper and actor admitted "every day ain't gonna be roses" in a long-term relationship but said their marriage remained strong because of their ongoing commitment to being together.

"We want to be (married)," Ice, 55, told Cam Newton's Funky Friday podcast. "You've got to want it. I don't want nobody to have my woman. She's mine. I'm hers."

He pointed out that not every moment of a relationship needs to be perfect - and that most people get frustrated with their loved ones at times.

"You don't like your mama every day. Some days she gets on your nerves. Some day your brother," the NWA hitmaker explained.

"Every day ain't gonna be roses - you can't expect that from your spouse. It's all about whether you're a family or not. You gotta be willing to give, and there's gotta be someone you want to give that time, effort, and love to."

Ice, whose real name is O'Shea Jackson, and Kimberly share four children: sons O'Shea Jr, 33, Darrell, 31 and Shareef, 24, and daughter Kareema, 30.

He previously revealed Kimberly, 54, was initially uninterested in dating him when they first met.

"When I saw her, something automatically went through my head and said, 'Either that could be your woman or that should be your woman'," Ice told In Depth with Graham Bensinger in 2021.

"Man, she didn't want me. She turned me down!"
