Gwen Stefani has lifted the lid on the time she "almost" kissed Leonardo DiCaprio.
The Hollaback Girl singer admitted she never expected to star in a movie, let alone play Leo's on-screen love interest.
Reflecting on some of her favourite fashion moments for Harper's Bazaar, Gwen, 55, spoke about attending the 2004 premiere of The Aviator, in which she played Leo's on-screen love interest, Jean Harlow.
"Not in my wildest dreams would I ever imagine I would be in a film," Gwen told the magazine. "But not only was I in a film, but I was in a Martin Scorsese film playing Jean Harlow, and I almost got to kiss Leonardo DiCaprio!"
The former No Doubt frontwoman added she missed out on locking lips with her co-star.
"But I didn't get to, so too late for that," she joked.
Gwen was thrilled to have the role at all, she said.
"That was one of the most incredible, scary experiences," she recalled. "I didn't have any skills, I just tried out. I went to the Bel-Air Hotel, and they were just literally trying out girls - just walking in and trying out. I remember I walked in, did the scene, and they were so nice. Martin made me feel so normal and comfortable, and I got the part!"
Joking, she added, "I had like 3 lines, but I got the part, okay?!"
