Lawyer Tony Buzbee is suing Jay-Z's Roc Nation.

The celebrity lawyer is behind the filing of the civil case accusing Jay-Z of raping a 13-year-old girl in 2000 at an afterparty for the VMA awards.

Jay-Z denied the allegations, calling them "idiotic," and claimed Buzbee attempted to "blackmail" him.

He said in a statement, "What he had calculated was the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle. No sir, it had the opposite effect! It made me want to expose you for the fraud you are in a VERY public fashion."

Now Buzbee is suing the rapper's company for alleged conspiracy to "obstruct justice."

He claims Jay-Z's entertainment company Roc Nation hired "shadowy operatives" to seek out former clients of Buzbee's to try and convince them to sue him, offering up to $10,000 (£7,900) to do so.

He alleges Roc Nation employees pretended to be state officials and "flashed fake badges" in an attempt to persuade them into filing false claims.

"This illegal conduct has happened more than two dozen times to date and has resulted in two utterly frivolous cases against the firm," he wrote on Instagram.

He then alleged he has recorded transcripts of calls to prove the attempted obstructions.

"The Defendants overstepped, got sloppy, and stupidly got caught in their illegal scheme on tape," he said.

A Roc Nation spokesperson called the lawsuit a "sham" and a "pathetic attempt to distract and deflect attention."
