Paul McCartney made the final show of his Got Back tour one to remember by staging a surprise Beatles reunion with Ringo Starr on Thursday night.
During the encore, the rocker introduced his former Beatles bandmate onto the stage at London's O2 Arena by telling the audience, "We've got another surprise for you. Bring to the stage the mighty, the one and only Mr Ringo Starr."
The audience went wild as the drummer walked onto the stage flashing peace hand signs. After exchanging a hug, Paul said, "Should we rock? Get on your kit la."
Ringo proceeded to get behind the drum kit, and together they performed two Beatles tracks - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and Helter Skelter.
According to social media videos, Ringo told the audience after his surprise performance, "I'm off now but I've had a great night. Love you all, especially this man."
The singer-songwriter added, "Ringo, I wanted to say that on behalf of us all, we love you all... Goodbye Ringo, I will see you soon. Ringo Starr!" as his friend walked off stage.
Paul and Ringo, the last surviving members of the Beatles, most recently performed together on Paul's Freshen Up tour in 2019 and during Ringo's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015.
Before his stint onstage, the drummer watched the show in the VIP section, which also featured celebrities such as George Clooney and Martin Freeman.
That wasn't the only musical surprise during the 82-year-old's concert - he also brought out Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood for a rendition of Get Back.
