Pete Doherty has teased his plans to reunite with Babyshambles for a 2025 tour.

The 45-year-old musician ruled the British music charts in the early noughties as part of the group - along with a line-up that has included bass player Drew McConnell and drummer Dr Adam Ficek.

Next year will mark the 20th anniversary of the release of the band's iconic debut album Down In Albion, which produced the smash singles Killamangiro, F*** Forever and Albion.

To mark the landmark year of the record, Doherty has confirmed he is planning to get his band back together to hit the road and play their biggest tunes.

He told the NME: "It is on the cards. We will get back together and get in a room with the instruments and play through the old songs, then get on stage and do it.

"But it's the 'who' and the 'when' that needs to be worked out. I think we'll just keep that one on the horizon and deal with that one next year. Before then, I've got a new collection of songs I'm putting out on my own label, which is tidy."

Babyshambles was formed in 2003 after Doherty was banned from his other band, The Libertines, for substance abuse - and the group's initial formation was disrupted when the singer was arrested and jailed for burglary.

The group went on to release three critically acclaimed Top 10 albums - and also enjoyed success in the singles charts with four of their tracks smashing the Top 10.
