Blur star Alex James has revealed that he thinks his kids could try to kill him.
The 56-year-old bass guitar player has made the prediction while speaking out about the UK government's plan to change inheritance tax laws relating to farms.
As well as being a chart-topping musician, James is also a well-known farm owner - and hosts an annual Big Feastival on his Costwolds estate every summer.
Speaking to Channel 4 about his views on new government plans to implement an inheritance tax on farmer's assets, the father-of-five joked, "When does the inheritance tax kick in? ... I'm slightly concerned my children are going to try and kill me before that kicks in."
He went on to quip, "Daddy's slipped on some cheese, it's been a terrible accident."
But on a more serious note, the Girls & Boys musician reflected on the fact he bought his farm amid the crippling foot and mouth crisis of 2001.
He recalled, "Every time you saw a farmer on telly he - and it was always a man - was in tears. It had been a really really tough time.
"And when you think of a farmer now, it's Jeremy Clarkson laughing his head off."
He also noted a trend among his peers to go into farming after living life in the spotlight, observing, "I remember thinking we were taking a huge, reckless, romantic leap into the unknown buying a farm.
"I've since come to realise it's just literally the next cliche in the book of rock cliches. You either die or you end up living on a farm."
