Ice Spice has apologised after arriving late for a New Year's Eve concert in Australia and only performing two songs

The New York-born rapper failed to impress the crowd at the Wildlands Festival in Brisbane on 31 December, as she missed her scheduled performance slot and was reportedly almost 30 minutes late to the stage.

Ice was set to perform from 10.30pm to 11pm but didn't appear until 10.55pm, leaving only enough time to perform two of her tracks - Deli and Princess Diana - due to the festival's tight schedule.

As she began a rendition of In Ha Mood, her mic was reportedly cut off at 11.01pm - much to the disappointment of the fans gathered to watch her.

According to podcaster Brenton Larney, Ice was "laughing" as she walked off stage and "shrugged off" a bouquet of flowers she was presented with.

Ice addressed the situation on 4 January when she performed at the Perth leg of the festival, where she spoke to the crowd about the reason behind her lateness.

"I'm sorry guys, surely y'all can forgive me," she was quoted as saying by local radio station Youth Jam. "It was my birthday and it takes a long time to look like a Barbie."

Ice, who turned 25 on 1 January, then went on to perform Barbie World, her collaboration with Nicki Minaj.

Although Wildlands Festival organisers initially remained silent after cutting the star's set short, they did later address the situation via social media.

"We understand that Ice Spice's delayed arrival caused some disappointment," the festival posted on Instagram. "Managing a stacked festival means that we have to be extremely firm with set times. We had a strict curfew of 12.30 and need to ensure that the final act went on stage on time, so everyone could enjoy the New Year's Eve countdown."
