The Grammy Awards' 2025 ceremony will continue as planned despite ongoing wildfires destroying Los Angeles.

The 2025 ceremony marks the 67th Annual Grammy Awards - honouring music created between 16 September 2023 and 30 August 2024 with Beyonce the most nominated star of the event, standing to win 11 awards.

For the past week, emergency services have been battling wildfires that have destroyed huge areas of Los Angeles - where the awards are due to take place at the Crypto.com Arena.

Harvey Mason jr, the Recording Academy & MusiCares CEO, announced in a statement shared via Deadline on Monday,"Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles. This city is our home, and we mourn the loss of life and destruction that have come to it in recent days."

Highlighting that the Recording Academy and MusiCares had raised $2 million (£1.6 million) to aid those in need, Mason jr proceeded to explain the decision to press on with the ceremony.

He said, "In close coordination with local authorities to ensure public safety and responsible use of area resources, the 67th GRAMMY Awards telecast on CBS on February 2nd will proceed as planned.

"This year's show, however, will carry a renewed sense of purpose: raising additional funds to support wildfire relief efforts and honouring the bravery and dedication of first responders who risk their lives to protect ours."

He added, "In challenging times, music has the power to heal, comfort, and unite like nothing else. The GRAMMYs will not only honour the artistry and achievements of our music community but also serve as a platform to amplify the spirit of resilience that defines this great city of Los Angeles."
