Celine Dion has paid tribute to her late husband on the ninth anniversary of his death.
The Canadian music icon has paid an emotional tribute to her husband René Angélil on the ninth anniversary of his death.
"René, we can't believe you've been gone nine years already," Celine wrote in an Instagram post on Wednesday. "Not a day goes by that we don't feel your presence, RC, Eddy, Nelson and I."
The post included a photo of Celine with her and René's three sons, René-Charles, 23, and twins Eddy and Nelson, 14.
"You were my greatest champion, my partner, and the one who always saw the best in me," the My Heart Will Go On hitmaker continued in the caption. "I honor you and you are forever missed mon amour.... We love you."
The music producer and talent manager was first diagnosed with throat cancer in 1998 but made a full recovery in 1999. The cancer then returned in 2013 and he underwent surgery to remove a cancerous tumour. It returned a third time in 2014.
Celine and René were married from 1994 until his death in January 2016, aged 73.
The heartfelt post comes less than a month after the 56-year-old paid tribute to her late husband on what would have been their 30th wedding anniversary in December.
"You still fill our hearts, every day," the It's All Coming Back to Me Now singer wrote at the time. "You are everything for us. We miss you so much. Happy 30th anniversary, mon amour!"
