Matty Healy has responded to a report claiming The 1975's next album will be about Taylor Swift.

Over the weekend, an editor at The Sun reported that the pop-rock band is gearing up to drop a sixth album, which will include a song titled God Has Entered My Body.

They also alleged that the track is about Matty's brief relationship with Taylor back in May 2023 and includes the lyric, "Keep your head up Princess, your tiara is falling."

"Everyone at the studio thought this was about Matty's fling with Taylor and their fleeting romance," a source told the outlet. "Matty will never publicly comment on his relationships, but he lets his deepest feelings out in his songs and gets everything off his chest. Fans will want to listen to the lyrics very carefully."

But in a discussion about the report on Reddit on Sunday, Matty was quick to offer his take.

"Huge if true," he quipped, without offering any further details.

Released in 2024, many fans believed certain songs on Taylor's The Tortured Poets Department album were about Matty. However, neither artist has commented on the rumours.

And during an appearance on the Doomscroll podcast last October, Matty insisted that he wouldn't write about his love life in his music anymore.

"I would kind of just be lying if I made a record about, I don't know, all the stuff that was said about me or my casual romantic liaisons or whatever it may be that I've kind of become known for, just because I was famous," the 35-year-old said. "I think that that's an obvious thing to draw from. And I'm just not interested in it. And I think like, the maintenance of the status quo is something that I always fight against."

Matty is now engaged to model-musician Gabbriette, while Taylor is in a relationship with NFL star, Travis Kelce.

The 1975, also consisting of Adam Hann, Ross MacDonald, and George Daniel, are rumoured to be one of the headliners for the upcoming Glastonbury 2025 festival.
